no you can play it on any tv but like on the old tvs you can barely see the words
So it is better if you have an lcd tv or plasma or any kind of new tv

No, but I would recommend getting one sometime, because I have an older tv, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to see some things, even things not on guitar hero!
