1. Log in on your playstation network account.
2. Go to playstation store. (the icon with the little blue bag)
3. Click the option on the far left called Add-ons.
4. Now go to the right in the big blue area to the disc based Add-ons. (it has a controller with a circle in the middle)
5. Scroll down to the Guitar Hero III icon, and press it.
6. Now that you are in the Guitar Hero area you can download any song here that you see. Some songs are free, while some need to be purchased. When you download a song that costs money, it will ask you if you would like to add funds to your wallet. All you have to do is hit yes and enter your credit card number. I know the other option of playstation card is next to entering your credit card number, but these are not available outside of Japan.

do these EXACT THINGS. I had this same problem. the 360 is so much easier to do these thing ;P
Go to the messages area (where you add friends and message them and stuff) or go to the game area.
if your at the messages area, go one to the left, and click on the one that says “playstation store”.
if your at the games area, do the same, but go to the right.
now once your in the playstation store, there should be a row of categorys, click on the one that says “add-ons”
once your in there, look for the first “add-ons” icon, and click on that. Then look for the game of your choice (guitar hero should be in the second row I think) click on it.
Once your in your games category. Look for the track pack that you want. theres a few free ones, and to download them click on them, and in there there should be a orange button somewhere (or atleast I think its orange) that says Download.
Click on that, and your set! If it says “would you like it to perform in backround?” that means it will download it for you while you can browse the playstation store. Then for some of the downloads, you have to go out of the playstation store and go to the games area and there will be something that says you need to install it. But if it doesn’t your set, you go onto guitar hero and play your new downloaded songs.
